Veterinary Receptionist

We have a rare opportunity for an enthusiastic, caring part-time receptionist to work at our main Shipley surgery, in a fast-paced role. The ideal candidate is a people person who understands the concerns of pet owners whilst offering excellent front of house customer service. Veterinary or medical practice experience would be preferred but full training would be given to the successful candidate.  

The position involves meeting and greeting clients in person and by phone.  Stock and diary management, daily takings, cleaning duties, assisting the vets and registered veterinary nurses and carrying out accurate financial transactions.

Responsibilities will also include responding to client emails and processing electronic requests, preparing medications for collection and maintaining a clean working environment. Therefore, we seek a highly responsible, well organised team player with a helpful and conscientious attitude. This role does include some lifting and several flights of stairs. You will also need basic numeracy skills and be comfortable with using computer software. 

Working hours will be between 8.15 am – 7pm on Monday to Friday, on a rota basis of early and late shifts, and 1 in 4 Saturdays. There may be occasional need to stay beyond shift times for unplanned overtime so flexibility is essential.
